Flows can can be exported from your project or workspace and imported into another. In this manner, you can deploy flows to other environments, including different editions of Trifacta®.

Export Flows

Steps:

  1. From the left navigation bar, click the Flows icon.

    Tip: You can also export the flow from Flow View.

  2. In the Flows page, select the flow and click Export from the context menu.
  3. In the Export flow dialog, enter any optional notes and click Download package (.zip).  The ZIP file is downloaded to your local desktop.

    Tip: When you import a flow, you can import this ZIP file. If your local environment automatically unzips ZIP files, please re-ZIP before you import.


NOTE: Modifying your flow outside of the Trifacta application is not supported.

Import Flows

Steps:

  1. From the left navigation bar, click the Flows icon.
  2. In the Flows page, select Import Flow.

    NOTE: When you import a flow, you must import a ZIP file containing the JSON definition.

  3. To import the flows, select the ZIP file containing the exported flow and click Open. The flow is imported into the system.

Warnings:

After you import a flow, you may receive a list of warnings, which indicate objects referenced in the flow that are not available in the new environment. These objects must be remapped in the new environment. See the links below for additional information.
