Registered users of this product or Trifacta Wrangler Enterprise should login to Product Docs through the application.
NOTE: Trifacta Wrangler is a hybrid desktop application that stores input and output files locally. Your registered data files are never sent to Trifacta servers and remain local to your computer.
The application consists of a desktop component that stores and processes files locally and a cloud-based component that delivers the application, stores user information (information associated with flows, datasets, and usage), and updates the desktop component when needed.
NOTE: When you attempt to launch the application, you may receive a remote server timed out error message. If you connect to the Internet through a proxy server, additional configuration is required. Please contact your IT administrator.
For more information on installing Trifacta Wrangler, see .
After you have installed the product, launch to to complete registration and to login. For more information on registering, see.
Updates are automatically pushed to your desktop. When a new version of Trifacta Wrangler is available, it is downloaded and installed for you.
NOTE: During an upgrade, if the application becomes unresponsive or the upgrade otherwise fails, you should do the following:
- Remove the product on your desktop. Since all is stored in the cloud, there is no risk of deleting your data.
- From the download page on the Trifacta website, download the latest version of the product.
- Re-install this version locally.
- Login to the product normally.
Transfer to a New Machine
If you are transferring to a new machine:
- Install the application on the new machine.
- Since flows, recipes, and other metadata are stored in the cloud, they are immediately available for use.
Since Trifacta Wrangler stores imported datasets on the local machine, connections to them are broken on the new machine. Imported datasets must be re-imported through the application.
NOTE: When an imported dataset is re-imported on a new machine, on the old machine its connection to the wrangled dataset is broken. A wrangled dataset can have one and only one imported dataset.
