To access  Designer Cloud Enterprise Edition, desktop users must use Google Chrome. For more information on the minimum supported version, see Desktop Requirements.

Configure Desktops for PNaCl

The default execution environment for the Designer Cloud Powered by Trifacta platform (codename: Photon) requires that the Portable Native Client (PNaCl) plugin be enabled and updated to a sufficient version in each desktop instance of Google Chrome.

Step 1 - Verify PNaCl Component Installation

This section provides information on how to enable the following plugins and to update if needed.

  • PNaCl Version:  0.50.x.y or later
Photon is the default execution environment for the Designer Cloud Powered by Trifacta platform. For more information, see Configure Photon Running Environment.

Steps:

  1. Open the Google Chrome browser on your desktop.
  2. Navigate to the following URL:

    chrome://nacl
  3. Verify that Portable Native Client (PNaCl) is enabled:

Step 2 - Verify and Update PNaCl Version

  1. Navigate to the following URL:

    chrome://components
  2. Locate an entry for pnacl, similar to the following:

  3. If the version number is less than than required or shows 0.0.0.0, click Check for update.
  4. Wait for the update to complete. A non-zero version number should appear.
  5. Restart Google Chrome.

Step 3 - Disable Unneeded PNaCl Features

  1. Navigate to the following URL:

    chrome://flags
  2. Verify that all the following flags are disabled:

    FlagLinkStatus
    Native Client GDB-based debuggingEnabledisabled
    Force PNaCl SubzeroEnabledisabled
    Restrictive Native Client GDB-based debugging by patternEnabledisabled
  3. If you made changes, restart Google Chrome.

 

Configure for WebAssembly

NOTE: Use of WebAssembly is supported in all versions of Google Chrome supported by the platform. No additional desktop configuration is required. For more information, see Desktop Requirements.

Use of WebAssembly must be enabled for the platform. For more information, see Miscellaneous Configuration.
