Email Task

Use the Email task to send emails about the execution of your plans via email.

Prerequisites

A Workspace Admin needs to set up access to a Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) email server in their Alteryx One Platform workspace. For more information, go to Email Server.

Create Task

  1. Drag and drop the Email task from the left panel to the Orchestrator canvas.

  2. In the right panel, fill the configuration fields.

    1. You can optionally select Test to send a test email.

    2. Confirm by selecting Send.

  3. The email is sent when the workflow runs.

Field

Description

To

Recipients of the email. You can select CC and BCC to add carbon copy and blind carbon copy recipients of the email.

  • The field is mandatory.

  • There must be at least one recipient.

  • Must be a valid email address.

Subject

Subject line for the email. You can enter '$' to include the plan or task metadata. Go to Orchestrator Metadata References for more information.

  • The field is mandatory.

  • Character limit is from 1 to 120 characters.

Message

The body of content for the email. You can enter '$' to include the plan or task metadata. Go to Orchestrator Metadata References for more information.

  • The field is mandatory.

  • Character limit is from 1 to 2000 characters.

Files from S3/base storage are supported as attachments.

Notice

The email is sent from the email address set up by the admin in their Alteryx One Platform workspace. For more information, go to Email Server.
