Global App Bar

The global app bar in the Alteryx One app provides a consistent navigation experience across Alteryx One while preserving core window controls. Designer runs within the Alteryx One app framework. All common Alteryx One navigation experiences are the same while working in Designer.

The global app bar retains standard window functionality. You can…

  • Double-click the title bar to maximize or restore the window.

  • Use minimize, maximize, and close controls.

  • Drag the window using the title bar.

  • Resize the window using the top borders.

Profile Menu

The global app bar displays information about the current user. Use the Profile menu to modify settings specific to your account. Select the user profile icon to view the following details:

  • User Name

  • Email ID

  • Alteryx One Preferences: Review your preferences, including account information and email notifications.

  • Workspaces: Switch between workspaces if you have access to multiple.

  • Select Sign Out to sign out of Alteryx One.

Trial Countdown

Select the countdown icon to view the number of days left in your trial version.

Notifications

Select the bell icon to view recent notifications. The notification dropdown displays recent activity. Notifications are available when you use the Alteryx One app on desktop or web. Notification behavior follows your user preference settings.

Help

Select the question mark icon to access these help resources:

  • Chat with Customer Support: Chat functionality is supported within the global app bar. Select Chat with Customer Support to start a conversation with the help desk.

  • Community

  • Help Documentation

  • Support Center

  • Alteryx APIs

  • Alteryx Status

  • Session Details: Select Session Details to open the View Session Details modal to see the technical information about your current application session. The following details are displayed in the View Session Details modal:

    • User ID

    • User GID

    • Browser Session ID

    • Account ID

    • Account Name

    • Workspace GID

    • Workspace Display Name

    • Region

    • App Version

  • Legal

Dark Mode

Use the Dark Mode toggle to switch your Alteryx One theme. Use the darker interface for improved comfort in low-light environments, reduced eye strain, and a more customized experience.

Select Dark Mode (moon icon) or Light Mode (sun icon) to switch your app experience.

  • This Dark Mode toggle does not currently control dark mode in Designer. To turn on Dark Mode in Designer, go to Dark Mode in Designer.

  • Dark Mode is not available in Server at this time.

Search

Use the search to find supported assets and resources across Alteryx One. Select the asset from the search results to open it in its associated module (Designer, Designer Cloud, Live Query).

Open Designer Assets from Browser

When you open a Designer asset from Alteryx One in the browser, the asset opens via the Alteryx One app. If you haven't installed the Alteryx One app, you must do so before you can successfully open a Designer asset from the browser.
