Customize Chart Elements

Learn how to customize chart elements in Reporting.

To customize chart elements, select the 3-dot menu next to the chart name in the Elements panel, then select Edit. Alternatively, hover over the chart element and select Edit edit-icon.png.

Chart Options

  • Bar Chart Name: Enter a name for your bar chart.

  • Orientation: Select Landscape or Portrait orientation for your bar chart.

Data Sources

For each group, select the data source you want to display in the chart.

  • Categories: This is the categorical variable to include in your chart. Select a Source from the columns in your dataset, which will display as labels for each bar in the bar chart.

  • Values: This is the numeric variable to include in your chart. Select a Source from the numeric columns in your dataset that you want to compare against the categorical variable you’ve selected.

    • Optionally, select a Range Min and Range Max to specify the range for your axis.

For each data source, you can select the style of the Axis Title and Label Display. You can also check the boxes to display Grid Lines or Tick Marks

Other Style Options

  • General: Format how the chart title is displayed.

    • Font Size: Change the font size of the title. To change the font size, enter a number or use the up and down arrows.

    • Color: Change the color of the title text. Enter a hexadecimal color code, use the color picker, or select one of the preselected colors to change the font color.

    • Font Style: Change the title font style. Select one or multiple font styles:

      • Bold

      • Italic

      • Underline

    • Alignment: Change the position of the title.

      • Left: Aligns the title to the left side of the chart element.

      • Centered: Aligns the title to the center of the chart element.

      • Right: Aligns the title to the right side of the chart element.

    • Bar Color: Change the color of the bars in the chart. Enter a hexadecimal color code, use the color picker, or select one of the preselected colors to change the bar color.

    • Bar Spacing: Change the width of the spacing between bars in the chart.

      • Automatic: This is the default spacing.

      • Custom: Enter a number to change the spacing between the bars in the chart.

  • Legend: Format how the legend is displayed.

    • Position: Determines where the legend is located on the chart.

      • Right: Displays in the top-right corner of the chart.

      • Bottom: Displays in the bottom-left corner of the chart.

      • Hide: Hides the legend.

    • Font Size: Change the font size of the legend. To change the font size, enter a number or use the up and down arrows.

    • Color: Change the color of the legend text. Enter a hexadecimal color code, use the color picker, or select one of the preselected colors to change the font color.

    • Font Style: Change the legend font style. Select one or multiple font styles:

      • Bold

      • Italic

      • Underline
