Configure Connectivity for Cloud SQL

This section outlines additional configuration that may be required to create connections between Dataprep by Trifacta and your relational instances hosted on Google Cloud SQL.

Configure SSL Connections

You can configure your connection to use SSL for interactions with your Cloud SQL database. Cloud SQL does not support disabling SSL certificate validation. Since you cannot upload your own SSL certificate to Dataprep by Trifacta, you must perform the following steps.

Steps:

  1. For your Cloud SQL database instance, you must disable Allow Only SSL Connections. For more information, see https://cloud.google.com/sql/docs/postgres/configure-ssl-instance.

  2. When creating your connection to a Cloud SQL database from within the Trifacta Application, select the Enable SSL checkbox.

When the above is performed, the Trifacta Application is no longer expecting a valid certificate and can use SSL to communicate.
