Get Started with Workflows
Designer Experience empowers analysts and data scientists with a self-service solution for data prep, blending, and analytics in the cloud.
Application Setup
Complete these steps to get started using the application.
Enable
Designer Cloud is enabled by default. If it is not enabled, a Workspace Admin can enable Designer Cloud in your workspace. For more information, go to Workspace Settings Page.
Note
Designer Cloud currently supports only English. For the best Designer Cloud experience, ensure your browser language preference is set to English.
Assign Roles
Each user of your workspace who needs access to the application must be assigned a Designer Cloud Creator or Designer Cloud Consumer role by a Workspace Admin.
Note
Each application has a specific set of roles. When a workspace user is assigned an application role, the licensed seat count for the application is incremented, where applicable.
For more information on application roles, go to Privileges and Roles Reference.
For more information on role permissions, go to Permissions Matrix.
For more information on assigning roles, go to Roles Page.
Consumer Role Restrictions
The Designer Cloud Consumer role gives users access to view and run workflows in a minimalist viewer mode. Note these restrictions for the Designer Cloud Consumer role...
User
You only have access to Designer Cloud.
You can view and run workflows.
If a workflow contains a cloud connection, you must enter your own credentials to access the data from that connection.
Many UI elements are hidden, including the Tool Palette and Interactive Results Grid.
You can't edit workflows.
You can't edit the input or output data in a workflow.
You can't share or delete workflows.
Other users can share a workflow with you with Editor permissions, but you can't edit the workflow yourself.
Admin
Only assign the Designer Cloud Consumer role to users. Don't assign the Default role to the same user.
